Giorgia Meloni sworn in, on Saturday, to be Italy's first female Prime Minister and the leader of the Brothers of Italy.

Meloni and her cabinet took the oath in the presence of the Italian president, Sergio Mattarella.

The Brothers of Italy set an alliance with League headed by Matteo Salvini, and Forza Italia headed by Silvio Berlusconi.

The new prime minister will deliver a speech in parliament in the upcoming few days and she needs to win a vote of confidence in both chambers.

Yesterday, she revealed some names of her cabinet such as Giancarlo Giorgetti, the League’s deputy leader, as economy minister; Guido Crosetto, a Brothers of Italy co-founder as defence minister; Carlo Nordio, a Brothers of Italy politician as justice minister and Paolo Zangrillo, the younger brother of Berlusconi’s chief medic, as minister for public administration.

On Thursday, Meloni tweeted: "We are ready to give Italy a government which will face the emergencies and the challenges of our time with awareness and competence."

Her party, Brothers of Italy, won 26% of the vote last month which is a historic milestone for the party as it will be in the government for the first time.

The consultations to set such an alliance was hit by deep disagreement between Meloni's support for Ukraine while the heads of her party's allies showed intimacy with Russia.

Recently, a recording was leaked for former prime minister and the head of Forza Italia Silvio Berlusconi where he talked about his close relationships.

His statements also showed that the Italian politician blamed Ukraine for the war.

Her other coalition partner, the leader of the League Party is a long-time fan of President Vladimir Putin, in addition, he criticized the sanctions on Russia.

Previously, Meloni asserted her support for Ukraine, saying: "I intend to lead a government with a clear and unequivocal foreign policy line," adding: "Italy is fully, and with its head held high, part of Europe and the Atlantic Alliance."

She warned: "Anyone who does not agree with this cornerstone will not be able to be part of the government, even at the cost of not forming a government."
