Italian Prime Minister Hopes to Visit Egypt Soon

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed her hope to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity following a telephone call with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said the call covered bilateral relations between Egypt and Italy, as well as regional and international developments.

President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the historic ties between the two countries and called for continued efforts to strengthen cooperation, particularly in trade and investment.

He stressed the importance of increasing Italian investment in the Egyptian market, given the opportunities available across several sectors.

Meloni agreed on the need to expand relations between Cairo and Rome in all fields, including trade and investment. The two leaders also discussed coordination in addressing irregular migration.

The call covered regional and international issues, with both sides stressing the importance of avoiding escalation and settling disputes through peaceful means.

El-Sisi and Meloni agreed to continue strengthening bilateral relations and intensify political consultation and coordination in support of regional peace and stability.
