Italian Prime Minister (PM) Mario Draghi said that the embargo imposed on grain exports from Ukraine threatens to provoke an exceptional food crisis in the world, which in turn could lead to political instability, according to the Italian "AKI" agency.
Draghi pointed out that in his intervention at the "Towards the South" conference held in Sorrento (Campania province) today, Friday, "for all the necessary activities related to gas, these do not come at the expense of the environmental transformation goals that we have agreed with Europe."
The Italian PM stated, "If an emergency situation exists, it motivates the world to adopt a greater speed in the use of renewable energy sources to ensure the energy, economic and political independence that we tend to, and to which we are led by the contemporary times in which we live."
