The Italian Foreign Minister (FM), Antonio Tajani, said today, Wednesday, that his country's recognition of the State of Palestine has become imminent after Hamas released the remaining live Israeli hostages.
Tajani stated in a speech before the Italian Chamber of Deputies, "The recognition of the State of Palestine, once the conditions set by Parliament are met, is now closer," as reported by the Italian news agency (ANSA).
It is worth noting that the release of the hostages was one of the conditions set by the government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for the recognition of Palestine.
The other condition was the political and military exclusion of Hamas from Gaza and the West Bank.
