The Israeli General Security Service "Shin Bet" acknowledged that a "serious security breach" had occurred at the home of Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, after the arrest of a "spy" for Iran.

The Shin Bet, according to Israel Radio, stressed that it would conduct security checks on a number of employees.

Yesterday, the Israeli security services announced that they had arrested a cleaner in the home of Defense Minister Benny Gantz, on charges of spying for Iran.

The Shin Bet confirmed that charges were formally brought against a 37-year-old sanitation worker named Omri Goren, a resident of Lod who worked with a partner in Gantz's home for several years.

According to the data of the Israeli security services, this employee spontaneously contacted the hacker group Black Shadow (“Black Shadows”), which is linked to the Iranian government, and offered to spy on the Minister of Defense, especially by installing spyware on his computer.

The Office of the Prosecutor and the Israeli Internal Security Service "Shin Bet" confirmed that charges were formally brought against Omri Goren, a sanitation worker.

The worker photographed, according to the statement, some items in Gantz's home, including the minister's office, computers, pictures of him and his family members, a box marked with the Israeli army's mark, a locked safe, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, tax bills, and others, and he sent these snapshots to the "Iranian parties" to prove his seriousness in cooperation.

The statement confirmed that the suspect, due to the security system in Gantz's home, was unable to access dangerous information, and an indictment against him was filed with the Lod District Court.

Gantz's phone was previously hacked in March 2019, and Israel suggested that Iranian hackers were behind this operation.
