On Saturday, several Israeli media agencies revealed that dozens of Israeli tourists smuggled drugs including marijuana into Dubai, UAE during new year's celebrations, according to N12.

According to Israeli sources, the tourists managd to escape the hard conditions of the third lockdown in their home country.

"Being caught by law enforcement in the UAE with a small amount of drugs may lead to anywhere between 20 years in prison and a death sentence," The Jerusalem Post website explained.

On the other hand, Authorities in Dubai asserted in the past week that citizens and tourists who violate guidelines during the New Year's Eve celebrations will be heavily fined.

Last September, UAE, and Bahrain signed a normalization deal with Israel which led to the flood of Israeli tourists in Dubai.

Over 50,000 Israelis visited the UAE since the deal between Israel and the UAE, and more Israeli tourists are expected to flood into Dubai.
