Israeli media revealed on Saturday the killing of a young Israeli man in Tel Aviv, shot by his friend who had recently returned from fighting in the Gaza Strip. Channel 12, a private Hebrew-language broadcaster, reported that the Israeli soldier, having recently returned from Gaza, killed his friend inside an apartment. The incident is believed to have a criminal background.
The channel noted that both the killer and the victim were 25 years old. It was also mentioned that the assailant was in possession of a licensed firearm.
Recent reports in Hebrew media have highlighted that thousands of Israeli soldiers discharged from service after the war in the Gaza Strip are suffering from post-war trauma. At the beginning of the current month, the Hebrew website Walla published an investigation indicating that approximately 1,600 Israeli soldiers and officers are experiencing post-war trauma, with at least 250 of them having been discharged, according to the investigation.
