Israeli Soldier Returning from Gaza Conflict Fatally Shoots Friend in Tel Aviv

In a tragic turn of events, a young Israeli man was shot dead in Tel Aviv by his friend, a soldier recently returned from combat in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli media revealed on Saturday the killing of a young Israeli man in Tel Aviv, shot by his friend who had recently returned from fighting in the Gaza Strip. Channel 12, a private Hebrew-language broadcaster, reported that the Israeli soldier, having recently returned from Gaza, killed his friend inside an apartment. The incident is believed to have a criminal background.

The channel noted that both the killer and the victim were 25 years old. It was also mentioned that the assailant was in possession of a licensed firearm.

Recent reports in Hebrew media have highlighted that thousands of Israeli soldiers discharged from service after the war in the Gaza Strip are suffering from post-war trauma. At the beginning of the current month, the Hebrew website Walla published an investigation indicating that approximately 1,600 Israeli soldiers and officers are experiencing post-war trauma, with at least 250 of them having been discharged, according to the investigation.

The Israeli military initiated a ground military operation in the Gaza Strip on October 27, which resulted in the death of 194 officers and soldiers and injuries to others.

According to the authorities in the Gaza Strip and the United Nations, the devastating war waged by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip since October 7 has, until Saturday, resulted in 24,927 deaths and 62,388 injuries.
