Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has instructed the Israeli police to prevent mosques in Israel from broadcasting the call to prayer via loudspeakers.
The new policy will allow the Israeli police to enter mosques and confiscate loudspeaker equipment if it is found in use, and mosques in which this equipment is found broadcasting the call to prayer will be fined.
In a post on the “X” platform, the far-right minister Ben-Gvir said that he was “proud” to present this policy, which he justified by saying: “It puts an end to the unreasonable noise from mosques, which has become a danger to the residents of Israel
