Israeli President Isaac Herzog has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reach an agreement on the release of hostages and a ceasefire, “even if the price is not simple.”
In a statement reported by The Times of Israel, Herzog emphasized the urgent need to advance negotiations regarding a hostage deal and a ceasefire.
The statement followed a meeting between Herzog and Netanyahu ahead of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to Washington, where he is set to meet U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday.
Herzog affirmed his support for the efforts to secure a hostage release deal, even if it requires making “difficult, complex, and painful” decisions.
