Israeli President Isaac Herzog is heading to the United States where he will meet with his US counterpart, Joe Biden, and other officials on Tuesday.

Prior to his departure, Herzog stated, "I am pleased to meet with President Joe Biden, a true friend of the State of Israel. I was delighted that even in his conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu, he reiterated the U.S. commitment to Israel's security, the fight against Iran, and the general fight against our enemies in the region, as well as strengthening cooperation in the fields of security, economy, and politics."

The Israeli president's visit to the United States coincides with the start of new protests in Israel on Tuesday against the judicial amendments law.

According to a correspondent in Jerusalem, protesters have taken measures such as "road closures and disrupting daily life" in Tel Aviv and various parts of the country.

The protest plan, according to the same source, includes a presence at train stations, with a central demonstration scheduled for the afternoon in the city of Jerusalem.

The coalition government is seeking to pass the "Reasonability Clause Reduction" bill in the second and third readings before the end of the current Knesset session at the end of this month.

In a related matter, the White House and Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced on Monday that Biden invited Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the US later this year, a long-delayed invitation, according to Reuters.
