The Israeli occupation forces have stormed the Aqsa mosque and prevented Palestinians Muslims from performing prayers on Friday.

The occupation forces reportedly clashed with worshipers following Friday prayer at the Lions Gate area, on the east side of the holy site, and forced many of them out of the compound as they fired stun grenades to disperse them, according to international reports.

Earlier, Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam strongly condemned the Israeli violations against the Al Aqsa mosque, calling on the international community to act firmly against the Israeli aggression toward the Arab and Islamic shrines.

Furthermore, the Mufti described the Israeli acts as terrorist and extremist.

It's worth noting that the Al Aqsa mosque, in the old city of Jerusalem, is the third holiest place in Islam.
