Israeli occupation forces issued demolition orders on Thursday for nine inhabited homes in the town of Ash-Shuyukh, northeast of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

Hassan Halaika, the mayor of Ash-Shuyukh, explained that the occupation forces issued demolition orders for nine inhabited homes in the Qanan Nias area of the town. He noted that the occupation authorities had previously notified the homeowners about a month ago to halt construction, citing lack of permits, despite the homeowners having submitted all the necessary legal documents and paperwork to obtain the required permits.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 1,659 attacks carried out by Israeli occupation forces and settlers during the month of May, including 1,108 attacks perpetrated by the Israeli army.

The Commission added that the occupation authorities also issued 51 demolition orders for Palestinian structures in the West Bank during the same period.

The notices were concentrated in the Bethlehem Governorate, with 22 notices in the Hebron Governorate, 17 in the Jerusalem Governorate, and 7 in the Jerusalem Governorate, in addition to two notices each in Jenin and Salfit, and one additional notice in Salfit.
