Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested two Palestinian citizens in Hebron, in the southern West Bank.
Security and local sources told "Wafa" news agency that the occupation forces arrested two citizens: Husam Fawaz Al-Skafi (18 years), and Saddam Ali Al-Jabari (24 years), after beating them, at a sudden military checkpoint.
The sources added that the occupation forces set up several military checkpoints at the northern entrances to Hebron, and the towns of Bani Naim, Sa`ir and Halhul.
Earlier this month, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his appreciation for the Egyptian efforts, in light of supporting the Palestinian cause for years, wishing Egypt success in organizing the Climate Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh. He also thanked Algeria for its efforts in the same framework ahead of the Arab Summit.
During his speech before the Arab League Council meeting today, Abbas considered that the Israeli occupation continues its violations in light of international silence, by demolishing homes and fields, storming cities and villages, and besieging Gaza and the towns of Jerusalem.
He called for the formation of an Arab ministerial committee to expose Israeli violations, help Palestine obtain full membership in the United Nations, prevent countries from moving their embassies to Jerusalem, and provide protection to the Palestinian people.
Abbas added that Israel is seeking to change the features of Jerusalem and change its identity, warning against the Judaization of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
