Israeli occupation authorities continue to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, in the central West Bank, for the fifth consecutive day.
The Jerusalem Governorate confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the occupation authorities prevented worshippers from entering the mosque, citing a state of emergency, amid a heavy deployment of their forces around the mosque and at the gates of the Old City, and preventing Palestinians from entering its courtyards.
The occupation forces had closed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Saturday morning, forcing worshippers to leave and preventing the performance of the Isha and Taraweeh prayers.
