The Israeli media reported on Monday that the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expected to visit Israel next week.
The visit is scheduled to work on sanctions on Iran in a bid to stymie efforts by the incoming Biden administration to re-enter the Iran nuclear deal.
Pompeo is expected to arrive in Israel on November 18 and will probably visit other countries in the region, the Walla news site reported.
Reports say that the Trump administration has cooperated with Israel and Gulf Arab states to impose sanctions on Iran to make it more difficult for the incoming administration to re-enter the nuclear deal.
Notably, the nuclear deal was negotiated when Biden served as vice president under Obama.
