Bahraini foreign minister is set to visit Israel, following signing the normalization agreement between the two countries, Israeli Media reported on Tuesday.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi confirmed that his Bahraini counterpart, Abd al-Latif al-Zayani, would make his first announced visit to Tel Aviv next week.
Last month, Israel cabinet approved the normalization deal with Bahrain, which now awaits Knesset ratification, according to Reuters.
In remarks to Army Radio, Likud Minister Tzachi Hanegbi revealed that the deal, signed at a White House ceremony on Sept. 15 where the United Arab Emirates also established formal ties with Israel, was unanimously approved by Netanyahu’s cabinet.
It is worth mentioning that, Bahrain’s cabinet approved the accord on Oct. 19.
Last August, UAE became the first Arab nation to normalize relations with Israel since Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994, followed by Bahrain and Sudan.
