Israeli forces intensified military operations across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, carrying out heavy artillery shelling and sustained gunfire in multiple areas, according to Al Qahera News.
Israeli military vehicles positioned in areas designated as military zones — which make up roughly 58 percent of the enclave — opened heavy fire toward parts of northern Gaza, particularly the town of Jabalia.
The gunfire reportedly struck tents sheltering displaced civilians as well as residents attempting to return to heavily damaged neighborhoods. Preliminary reports indicate that a 25-year-old Palestinian woman was killed in the attack, while several others sustained injuries of varying severity, some described as critical.
The escalation extended beyond the north. Eastern districts of Gaza City, including Zeitoun, Shuja’iyya and Tuffah, were subjected to continuous artillery bombardment, further worsening destruction in densely populated residential areas.
The renewed strikes come amid heightened tensions on the ground, with residents facing deteriorating humanitarian conditions and continued displacement as hostilities persist.
