Israeli forces carried out extensive demolition operations in eastern areas of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, amid ongoing military escalation across several regions, according to reports from inside the enclave.
The demolitions were concentrated primarily in the eastern districts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, where multiple explosions were heard as residential blocks were destroyed. The operations coincided with continuous artillery shelling and heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles.
Khan Younis, particularly its eastern and southern neighborhoods, has been subjected to intense fire, resulting in civilian casualties. A 15-year-old Palestinian boy was killed in the southern area of the city and later transferred to Nasser Medical Complex for burial procedures.
In western Khan Younis, gunfire was reportedly directed at tents sheltering displaced civilians in the Al-Mawasi area, leaving several people injured. Israeli naval vessels also opened fire off the coast of Khan Younis, targeting fishing boats, killing one Palestinian fisherman and injuring others.
The developments come amid mounting humanitarian concerns as civilians continue to face displacement, infrastructure destruction, and limited access to medical care.
