The Israeli Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant on the political level about the phenomenon of widespread refusal to military service among young men of military age, according to Russia Today.
Herzi Halevy expressed his concern and fears about the phenomenon of widespread refusal to serve in the Israeli army, explaining that the phenomenon is increasing towards alarming proportions.
Halevy warned both Netanyahu and Gallant of the spread of the phenomenon due to protesting the judicial amendments in a way that could harm the operational efficiency of the Israeli army.
However, The Times of Israel, an Israeli English-spoken daily newspaper, reported that tens of thousands of people across Israel protested last Saturday against the judicial reform project.
Mass protests continue in Israel amid the Knesset's approval to consider the second part of the planned judicial reform, and Israelis are protesting against judicial reform for the ninth week in a row.
According to Israeli police sources, the number of participants in the protests reached about 250,000 people in all demonstrations, and 150,000 people in the Tel Aviv demonstration.
