The Israeli army reported on Wednesday that the 13th and 51st battalions of the Golani Brigade are currently undergoing self- and collective treatment and in-depth and intensive training, after the heavy losses they suffered on October 7.
In a statement, the Israeli army said, “The 13th and 51st Battalions of the Golani Brigade were the first to bear the burden of the surprising attack carried out by the fighters of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on the morning of Saturday, October 7, and they fought fierce and stubborn battles in the Kissufim and Nahal Oz sectors.”
The army added, "The two battalions, which suffered many losses, are currently undergoing in-depth training and intensive training for the next phase of the fighting."
At dawn on October 7, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, launched a surprise military operation during which it breached the Israeli separation wall of the Gaza Strip towards the cover settlements and fought fierce battles with the Israeli forces.
