Hebrew media outlets reported today, Saturday, that the Israeli army is going to launch a massive inspection operation that includes all of the country's prisons.

The army seeks to reveal any possible tunnels, after the recent escape of 6 Palestinian prisoners from Gilboa prison.

The "Walla" news website affiliated to Israeli intelligence,  stated that the operation, which the army will conduct in cooperation with teams of engineering and construction experts, will start tomorrow,  Sunday, with special attention to Gilboa Prison, where the resounding escape took place.

The website indicated that the aforementioned prison will be emptied of detainees who will be transferred to other detention centers in central and southern Israel temporarily.

The Israeli authorities have so far been able to arrest four of the six prisoners.

Today,  Hebrew media reported that the Israeli Prison Authority is searching for new tunnels inside Gilboa Prison, from which six Palestinian prisoners escaped, at dawn last Monday.

The Walla affirmed, this evening, Saturday, that the Israeli Prison Authority decided to evacuate two sections of Gilboa prison and transfer them to other prisons in the south of the country, in the context of searching for other tunnels inside the prison itself.

The website indicated that there are military instructions to continue searching Gilboa Prison, in particular, and the rest of the prisons in general, for fear of the existence of other tunnels through which Palestinian prisoners can escape.

It is worth noting that six Palestinian prisoners managed to break out from Gilboa Prison, a high-security prison in northern Israel, last Monday, and since Friday evening, the Israeli security forces managed to re-arrest 4 of them.

The Israeli security forces are intensifying their efforts to arrest the two remaining prisoners, Munadil Nafeat and Ayham Kamamji.
