Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh accused Israel of fueling the escalation and killing in the Palestinian territories.
He said that Tel Aviv is launching aggression against the Palestinians from Jenin to Hebron, and in Jerusalem in particular, and is practicing a policy of “shoot to kill.”
He added, at the beginning of the Palestinian government session yesterday: “This policy and the accompanying intensification of settlements and the completion of the construction of the wall are used by the Israeli parties to preserve themselves.
Palestinian factions in Jenin camp announced an alert (in Arabic Nafeer) and called through loudspeakers citizens to be vigilant, while dozens of gunmen barricaded themselves inside the camp, and young men closed its entrances with barriers in preparation for an imminent Israeli attack on the camp, which was the scene of a bloody and famous battle during Israel’s implementation of Operation Defensive Wall in the West Bank in 2002.
