Israeli Army Intercepted “Surface-to-surface” Missile Launched from Red Sea, Strong Explosion Rocks Ramon Airport

The Israeli army announced, on Tuesday, the interception of a “surface-to-surface” missile launched from the Red Sea.

The army said in a statement published on the “X” platform: “A surface-to-surface missile launched into the Israeli territories of the from the Red Sea region was successfully intercepted by the long-range defense system “Arrow.”

The statement added: that Israeli army planes took off at dawn after detecting an air threat in the Red Sea region and intercepting enemy targets flying in the region.

However, violent explosions occurred on Tuesday morning in the vicinity of Ramon Airport near Eilat in southern Israel, amid talk of a missile being intercepted.

The Yemeni Ansar Allah (known also as Houthis) group had claimed responsibility for launching drones towards Eilat, according to Agence France-Presse.

On Tuesday morning, the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported the interception of a drone coming from Yemen over the Red Sea.
