Israeli analyst, Nahum Barnea, doubted the possibility of Israel achieving victory in the Gaza Strip, stressing that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to market a victory that “does not exist.”
This came in an article in the weekly paper supplement of the Hebrew "Yedioth Ahronoth", published on its website with paragraphs deleted, which other Israeli websites republished as part of press monitoring, today, Saturday.
He continued: "But unfortunately, there is no such victory on the horizon. Netanyahu's talk about a long-term war is not a vision - but rather a marketing alternative for a victory that does not exist. Either victory or war."
Barnea continued: "The reality that awaits us is different: confrontations with an ally, a ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and blackmail by bloodthirsty terrorists."
