Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, hitting areas including Kafaat and Haret Hreik, in a renewed escalation following a pause of more than 24 hours in strikes on the Lebanese capital.

The attacks came after the Israeli military issued advance warnings urging residents of the southern suburbs to evacuate and refrain from returning, part of a pattern of precautionary measures seen in recent days.

The strikes coincided with intense fighting in southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah fighters are engaged in ongoing clashes with Israeli ground forces advancing in the area. The pace and scale of military operations have increased markedly, indicating a sharp escalation in hostilities along the border.

Hezbollah is reported to have carried out approximately 55 operations in a single day, targeting Israeli military positions near the frontier as well as sites deeper inside Israeli territory. The surge in attacks points to a widening scope of confrontation between the two sides.

These developments highlight mounting fears of a broader conflict, as cross-border exchanges intensify and both sides continue to expand their military engagement.
