The Israeli Air Force confirmed carrying out a raid on Iran's Isfahan.
ABC News reported the confirmation of an unnamed U.S. official that Israeli missiles struck a site inside Iran. It stated that the official did not confirm whether sites in Iraq or Syria had also been bombed.
According to US officials, only one target in Iran was struck.
Iran activated its air defense after reports of explosions, while local media reported that anti-aircraft guns shot down flying objects in several Iranian regions.
Al-Alam TV quoted a spokesman for the Iranian Space Organization as announcing that the air defenses had shot down a number of small objects. He added that it confronted suspicious objects in the airspace of Isfahan near the military base northwest of the city.
While the Iranian Press TV reported that the situation in Isfahan, Iran, is normal, and no explosion occurred on the ground.
The Iranian Mehr Agency quoted the Director of Public Relations for Air Navigation, Friday, announced the suspension of flights to Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and the western, northwestern, and southwestern airports.
Several Iranian and Israeli media reported that massive explosions were heard in Isfahan, central Iran. Iranian social media activists spoke of hearing huge explosions in Isfahan.
In turn, the Iranian Fars News Agency said, citing sources that three explosions were heard near an army base northwest of Isfahan.
Iranian media announced Friday that flights had returned to normal at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, a few hours after Iran suspended flights over several cities, including the central city of Isfahan, which earlier reported that explosions were heard near its airport.
Tasnim News Agency quoted the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization as reporting that restrictions on flights at several airports had been lifted.
