Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen announced that he had ordered the return of Israeli diplomatic representatives from Turkey with the aim of re-evaluating Israeli-Turkish relations.
Minister Cohen said this after the statements issued today, Saturday, by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which constituted a scathing attack on Tel Aviv because of what he said were “massacres and massacres carried out by Israel in Gaza amid complete silence from the international community and Western countries that have become blind to seeing those killed by Israel.”

Cohen said, according to a statement issued by the Israeli Foreign Ministry press office: “Israel is recalling its diplomats from Turkey to re-evaluate bilateral relations in light of the recent statements of the Turkish political leadership, especially the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
He said: "In light of the escalating tone of the Turkish statements, I ordered the recall of our diplomatic representatives from Turkey in order to re-evaluate Israeli-Turkish relations."
on Saturday, Erdogan said during a massive public gathering in support of Palestine held in Istanbul: “We stand by Gaza and our Palestinian brothers as we stood by the oppressed previously, and as for Turkey and our people, Gaza is dear to us just as Adana (southern Turkey).” We have to ... it and the rest of the Muslim lands were part of the lands of the Ottoman Empire.”
He added: "We knew that Israel would be upset if we said that Hamas is not a terrorist organization, and yet we expressed our position clearly." He said: "The determination of the people of Gaza to confront Israel's brutality, and the 'spirit of victory' that happened in Gaza will be recorded in history."
The Turkish President considered that everyone knows that Israel is nothing but a pawn in the region, which will be sacrificed when the time comes, explaining that "the West is most responsible for the massacre in Gaza, and that the West will withdraw from supporting Israel when the war enters the occupied territories."
