The Israeli military stated on Thursday that it had observed the arrival of individuals suspected of involvement in activities across several regions in southern Lebanon, characterizing this as a breach of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah.

According to Reuters, the Israeli military indicated that it had discharged warning shots at civilians attempting to enter villages in southern Lebanon, where Israeli troops are deployed.

The artillery was fired from a considerable distance, intended to deter civilians from approaching the area.

The ceasefire agreement, which was ratified two days prior, requires Hezbollah to withdraw to a position beyond the Litani River, located about 30 kilometers north of the Israeli-Lebanese border.

On Wednesday, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati reiterated Lebanon's commitment to enhancing the military presence in the southern region following the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, while simultaneously urging the Israeli state to respect the truce and withdraw its forces.

His remarks followed a government meeting in which the cabinet reaffirmed its dedication to the decision to bolster the deployment of the military and all security forces in the area south of the Litani River, urging the Israeli military to comply with the ceasefire agreement and withdraw from all territories.

He expressed hope that the truce would mark "a new chapter in Lebanon... leading to the election of a president."
