The Israeli Prison Service announced early Thursday morning the release of a new batch of 30 Palestinian prisoners under the temporary truce agreement between Israel and Hamas.

The release of this sixth batch of Palestinian prisoners came shortly after Hamas released an additional batch of hostages it was holding in the Gaza Strip.

Those hostages included 10 Israeli hostages who were released in accordance with the agreement, and 4 Thais and two Russian women who were released by Hamas in isolation from this agreement.

Qatar, which is leading the mediation efforts between the two parties, announced that the Palestinian prisoners who will be released on Wednesday night are 16 minors and 14 women.

Among those released was Ahed Al-Tamimi, a Palestinian activist who became one of the most prominent symbols of Palestinian popular resistance in the occupied West Bank.

However, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that five people were injured by live ammunition, one of whom was in serious condition, during the clashes between relatives of the Palestinian prisoners and Israeli security forces that took place outside the prison on Wednesday-Thursday night.
