The Israeli military on Tuesday ordered residents to evacuate several areas in eastern Gaza following a wave of airstrikes on the enclave.
The Israeli military called for the evacuation of Beit Hanoun, Khuza’a, and the large and new Abasan neighborhoods in the eastern part of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated on the social media platform X that residents of these areas should leave immediately, stating that the military has "launched a strong attack against terrorist organizations." He described these areas as dangerous combat zones.
The Israeli Forces urged civilians to move to designated shelters in western Gaza City and Khan Younis.
The evacuation orders come as Israel launched new airstrikes targeting Hamas across Gaza, vowing to "intensify military force" after negotiations over the release of more hostages stalled.
In a statement, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said it had instructed the military to strike Hamas targets throughout the Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered the military to take "strong action" against Hamas in response to the group's refusal to release hostages and its rejection of all ceasefire proposals.
"From now on, Israel will act against Hamas with increasing military power," Netanyahu’s office stated.
The latest escalation comes amid ongoing international efforts to broker a ceasefire and secure the release of hostages, but talks have so far failed to yield results.
