The Israeli Broadcasting Authority (Kan), quoting the military, reported that a withdrawal from positions in Lebanon will be discussed with the Lebanese delegation during the fifth round of talks scheduled to take place in Washington next week.
The military added that its forces remain stationed in the Ali al-Tahir hills and Kafr Tibnit, near Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli occupation forces stated that their troops are currently deployed within a security zone reaching a depth of 10 kilometers inside Lebanon, based on operational needs.
The military noted that its forces are stationed across their areas of operation in southern Lebanon, where they continue to neutralize threats and protect the residents of northern Israel.
Meanwhile, relations between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are experiencing unprecedented strain. This fallout comes in the wake of Washington and Tehran signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that paves the way for a new phase of negotiations, causing long-brewing disagreements to burst into the open.
The agreement has triggered immense shock within Israel, where officials view its terms as a direct undermining of what Netanyahu has repeatedly termed "absolute victory."
The Israeli newspaper Maariv quoted sources stating that US messages are reaching Israel warning that a severe diplomatic crisis could erupt between Washington and Tel Aviv if Israel continues its stubborn stance.
