Journalists from Al-Quds Al-Youm TV were reporting near al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp when their broadcasting van was struck, according to media reports citing sources and Gaza's Information Office on Thursday morning.
Despite the vehicle being clearly marked with the word "press," it was reportedly targeted.
The journalists killed in the attack have been identified as Fadi Hassouna, Ibrahim al-Sheikh Ali, Mohammed al-Ladah, Faisal Abu al-Qumsan, and Ayman al-Jadi.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of attacks on media personnel covering events in Gaza. Over 200 journalists have been killed in Gaza and other parts of Palestine since Israel began its military campaign on October 7, 2023.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of more than 45,300 Palestinians and left over 107,800 injured.
