Israel’s military has admitted to a technical fault in its Home Front Command notification system after a missile was launched from Yemen on Friday morning, according to Israeli Army Radio.

Army Radio reported that a security source claimed three rockets fired from Gaza were intercepted in the southern envelope region.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Israeli military announced that the 36th Division had fully secured the Morag axis and completed the encirclement of Rafah.

The Morag axis stretches across southern Gaza, running from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the Gaza-Israel border at the Sufa crossing in the east, between the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis. The axis measures approximately 12 kilometres in length.

Israel originally established the Morag axis in March 1972, five years after occupying Gaza, and named it after the “Moshav” that once stood within the Gush Katif settlement bloc.
