Reports: Israel, 5 African Countries to Sign Normalization Deals

The Hebrew newspaper, Israel Hayom, confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has drawn up a plan to establish an alliance between Israel and African countries; most notably Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Niger.

In the same context, the Israeli newspaper "Yediot Aharonot" revealed that the Hebrew state had conducted secret contacts with the Niger state, aiming to reaching an agreement to normalize the relations between the two sides, under Saudi sponsorship.

Political experts anticipated that Niger will be the "next Muslim country" to conclude an agreement to normalize relations with Israel.

Presidential elections are likely to be held in Niger next month. The most prominent candidates is the former Minister of Interior for the Nigerian Party for Democracy and Socialism, Mohamed Bazoum, and the leader of the ruling military council, General Salou Djibo.

The Tel Aviv's Ministry of Intelligence expects that there will be an evolution in secret communications to reach an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Niger in case Bazoum wins.

In recent weeks, Hebrew media reports have reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has encouraged Nigerian officials to normalize relations with Tel Aviv.

According to the newspaper, Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen said that the agreements between Tel Aviv and Muslim countries in Africa will help in regional stability, and the upcoming elections in Niger will be fundamental to the progress of the process of normalizing relations between the two parties.
