Three members of the terrorist organization ISIS were killed and a large number of them were wounded, in fierce confrontations between its militias.

Somali media reports indicated that "The armed clashes between the organization's elements came after they split into two wings."

The heavy fighting took place in the Al-Maskad Mountains in Beri region in northeastern Somalia, specifically in the rugged mountainous areas of the state of Puntland.

The dispute arose over the succession of the leadership of the organization after the disease disrupted its current leader, called Abdul Qadir Moamen, who separated from the terrorist Al-Shabaab movement in the past.

The eighty-year-old leader suffers from complications from serious diseases, most notably diabetes, which recently made him bedridden, according to media sources.

ISIS in Somalia did not comment on the fighting between its elements, which comes shortly after the organization declared war on the Al-Shabaab terrorist movement.

ISIS carries out attacks and assassinations inside Somalia, and most of its fighters are stationed in mountainous areas in Beri province, northeastern Somalia, in the state of Puntland.

The launch of ISIS terrorist activity in Somalia dates back to October 2015, and was founded from a group of terrorists who defected from the Al-Shabaab movement linked to Al-Qaeda.

This is after successive defeats and the loss of large parts of Somali cities, as well as the war between the two militias.
