The so-called Islamic State, ISIS, militant group confirmed its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a U.S. raid, according to the group’s news agency Amaq.
ISIS's media arm, al-Furqan, released an audio tape on Thursday; uncovering Baghdadi’s successor.
Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Quraishi was appointed by ISIS senior leaders to be the group’s new leader.
Also, the group announced that “Abu Hamza al-Quraishi” has become its new media spokesperson.
The audio recording’s duration is 7 minutes and 37 seconds.
In addition, Abu Hamza confirmed the death of ISIS former spokesman Abu Hassan al-Muhajir in the U.S. raid on northern Syria a few days ago.

On Oct. 29, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted that “Just confirmed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s number one replacement has been terminated by American troops. Most likely would have taken the top spot - Now he is also Dead!”
An anonymous U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal that al Muhajir “would have been one of the potential successors” to al-Baghdadi.
Syrian Democratic Forces, SDF, announced Sunday that al-Muhajir was dead.
Mazloum Abdi, the commander of the SDF, said Sunday al-Muhajir “was targeted in a village named Ein al Baat near Jaraboul city, the mission was conducted via direct coordination of SDF Intel & US military.”
The SDF is an anti-ISIS coalition and backed by the U.S.
