Dr. Eman El-Sayyed, Head of the Planning Sector at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation said that the World Water Forum (WWF) is the largest water event that is organized periodically every 4 years.
El-Sayyed indicated that the WWF was organized in several countries and is a forum for all water workers, whether politicians, executives or experts, noting that the next conference will be organized in Senegal next March.
El-Sayyed added, during a discussion with the journalist Youssef Al-Husseini on the "Ninth" program, which is aired on the state-run channel 1, that the WWF will come under the title “Water Security for Peace and Development.”
The Egyptian official pointed out that there is a partnership between Egypt, Senegal, and the organization’s team, in order to define the topics for the conference, and it will focus on issues related to solving water and sanitation problems. It will also focus on providing the means to achieve development and peace and on water infrastructure projects.
El-Sayyed confirmed that the forum will be held with the attendance of about 30,000 participants and that there will be a summit at the level of presidents that will be held in the forum and important messages will emerge from it. There will be also talk about cooperation in the field of water, and how to cooperate between the countries that share water and riparian courses.
Yesterday, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, reviewed the existing coordination to prepare for organizing the forum, discussing and evaluating the work plan and the existing preparations for organizing the conference and the activities to be implemented, and the expected participation of the Ministry and the National Center for Water Research in the conference activities, to present the successful Egyptian experiences in facing water challenges and integrated management.
For water resources, the minister said that he is a strategic partner of the World Water Forum.
