Egypt's Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aty arrived Thursday in Kinshasa, the capital of DR Congo, in an official visit.
The Egyptian Minister was received at the airport by Eve Bazaiba Masudi, Congolese Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, and Egypt's Ambassador to Congo as well as a number of senior officials.
In a press statement, Abdel Aty said that this important visit comes as an expression of Egypt's belief in the necessity of achieving maximum levels of cooperation and coordination between the two countries to achieve sustainable development and improve citizens' standard of living in Congo.
On her part, Masudi expressed her happiness at Abdel-Atty's visit, which comes within the framework of the mutual visits between the two sides. She also affirmed the depth of relations between both countries, expressing her aspiration to exchange visions and enhance joint cooperation during the coming period.
The two ministers are scheduled to discuss ways to boost joint cooperation between the two countries in the areas of water management.
Moreover, Abdel Aty will take part in the inauguration of the "Climate Prediction Center" in Congo, which is of great importance as a center for studying and following up on climate changes. It will play a key role in protecting Congolese people from many climatic disasters and sudden floods.
