Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Mohamed Abdel Atty, warned on Monday that the Nile Delta is among the world's most threatened areas by climate change.

Abdel Atty’s remarks came during an expanded meeting with Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, to discuss the preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27) and the Water Pavilion, which will be held on the sidelines of the conference next November.

Moreover, the Egyptian minister stressed that many countries around the world, as well as various regional and international organizations, are keen on participating in the water pavilion held on the sidelines of the climate conference.

He also referred to the "Fifth Cairo Water Week," which is scheduled to be held under the title "Water at the Top of the Global Climate Agenda."
