Iraq's parliament approved, in the first reading, the draft law that prohibits normalization and establishment of Relations with Israel".
The draft law provides the death penalty for anyone who violates its provisions.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives adopted, in the first reading, the draft law, a few hours after the Presidency of Parliament received the draft law submitted by the Sadrist bloc in the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
The law included in its original version, which includes 10 main articles, including "criminalizing of normalization with the Zionist entity (Israel) in any form.
The bill prevents the establishment of diplomatic, political, military, economic and cultural relations or any relations in any way with this occupying entity."
The law affirmed that “this ban and prohibition applies to all Iraqis inside and outside Iraq, including officials, state employees and those charged with public service, including civilians, military and foreigners residing in Iraq.
