Iraqi President: Baghdad Seeks to Strengthen Co-op with Egypt

Iraqi President Barham Salih said today, Wednesday, that his country is keen to strengthen cooperation with Egypt, he also sent his "greetings" to his Egyptian counterpart President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Salih affirmed, during his meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, Alaa El Din Moussa in the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the depth of relations between Iraq and Egypt in various fields, and the keenness to support bilateral cooperation frameworks and to enhance the work of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian High Committee, as well as moving towards broader horizons through the agreed understandings and protocols.

Meanwhile, Moussa pointed out the importance of strengthening joint cooperation, and praised the existing development in the bilateral relations.

The Iraqi president conveyed the Egyptian ambassador his "Greetings to President Sisi."

On his part, the Egyptian ambassador affirmed Cairo’s intention to expand the horizons of constructive cooperation with Iraq in various fields, in order to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress and stability.
