The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced Sunday the arrest of a gang that attacked security forces and protesters in Najaf Governorate.
The ministry stated that this came after a careful intelligence follow-up that lasted for more than 9 months. The gang targeted the security services and shot protesters in the events of the demonstrations in Najaf last February.
The Ministry added that the security forces managed to arrest four accused of the gang who confessed to shooting at the demonstrators, which led to killing and injuring Iraqi people.
It pointed out that the defendants confessed to their use of Molotov cocktails, attacking the house of the governor of Najaf.
