Iraqi FM Highlights Strong Ties with Oman

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed the deep historical relations between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman, noting the importance of coordinating to hold the Joint Committee between the two countries in Baghdad soon, and the need for economic and strategic openness towards Oman.

During discussions with Omani journalists, according to the Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Foreign Minister highlighted the "Development Road" project, emphasizing its significance as a fruitful and positive partnership. The project will provide a secure corridor that contributes to accelerating the transport of goods on a regional level.

The meeting also covered a range of regional and international issues, most notably Iraq's role in the conflict in Gaza and the urgent need to save the Palestinian people.

Additionally, the Iraqi minister pointed to the current efforts of the Iraqi government in the fields of reconstruction, service provision, and economic development.
