Iraqi armed factions announced that they targeted an American base located near Erbil Airport in northern Iraq, using a drone.

The factions calling themselves the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” issued a statement in which they said: “In continuation of the approach of resistance to the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and response to the Zionist entity’s massacres against our people in Gaza, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked the occupation base near Erbil Airport.” Northern Iraq by drone.

The statement of the Iraqi factions added: “The Islamic Resistance confirms that it will continue to destroy enemy strongholds.”

This came in the wake of a speech by the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, last Friday, in which he warned the United States against responding to the Iraqi resistance.

The Iranian "IRNA" agency quoted Qaani in a speech he delivered at a memorial ceremony for Hossein Pourjafari, the personal companion of the late Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, threatening the Americans that "if you continue your irrational behavior in Iraq, the Iraqi resistance will put its considerations aside and respond to you differently."
