The Iraqi Joint Operations Command announced on Saturday that four ISIS terrorists were eliminated and a strategic militant hideout was completely destroyed following targeted airstrikes in the Kirkuk Governorate.
According to an official statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the operation was executed based on precise, high-level intelligence reports. Iraqi Air Force F-16 fighter jets launched two successful precision strikes targeting a hideout used by an active terrorist cell belonging to ISIS remnants. The targeted facility was located in the strategic area of Wadi al-Shay, within the Kirkuk operations sector.
The defense command confirmed that the initial F-16 bombardment resulted in the immediate deaths of three terrorists and reduced the insurgent hideout to rubble.
Following the precision airstrikes, Iraqi Army Aviation deployed armed reconnaissance aircraft to conduct a thorough sweep and search of the surrounding territory. During the surveillance operation, army aircraft detected and successfully neutralized a fourth fleeing terrorist operative.
Military officials emphasized that counter-terrorism sweeps will continue to target remaining sleeper cells across the region to ensure long-term stability and security.
