Iraq Seeks Boosting Economic Relations with Saudi Arabia

Iraq's Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar showed, on Sunday, his country’s full interest in strengthening economic relations with Saudi Arabia, confirming the Saudi delegation's desire to provide the necessary support.

The Saudi ministerial delegation arrived in Baghdad this morning to hold a meeting of the Iraqi-Saudi committee.

During the meeting of the Iraqi-Saudi Supreme Committee, which took place in Baghdad this morning, Abdul Jabbar affirmed that his country was keen on strengthen bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields, including economic and investment, oil, energy, industry, agriculture, health, education, in a manner that serves the common interests.

"This meeting comes in connection with previous meetings between brothers, through which we aim to activate memorandum of understanding on the earth,” Abdul Jabbar mentioned.

“Additionally, promoting this in new projects in the field of bilateral interconnection of electricity, petrochemical industry, gas investment and others. We have seen a real desire to cooperate and provide the support needed from the Saudi’s side. "

On his part, Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman confirmed, through the television circuit, the Kingdom's keenness to develop and sustain relations with the brothers in Iraq in order to accelerate the implementation of bilateral cooperation projects in all fields.

The head of the Saudi delegation and Minister of Industry Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef referred to the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
