President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Iraq to participate in the "Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership" conference on Saturday, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
"The participation of President Sisi in the conference comes within the framework of Egypt’s keenness to support the return of Iraq to its effective and balanced role at the regional level," Rady said.
He added that it also aims at ensuring Iraq's security and stability, as the conference seeks to discuss ways to enhance the constructive dialogue path with the aim of establishing a partnership, cooperation and economic integration between Iraq on one hand and neighboring countries and friendly countries on the other.
The spokesperson pointed out that Sisi was received by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, Prime Minister of Iraq at Baghdad International Airport.
