Hours ago, an Iraqi political source revealed that there are negotiations to form "cross-component" electoral alliances, noting that they are "non-sectarian."

The source told RT that negotiations were underway to put the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, as well as the leader of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, in addition to former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in a single electoral alliance.

He added: "The negotiations are still ongoing and will be resolved before the tenth of this month, which is the date for closing the electoral alliances registration in the Electoral Commission."

The term "cross-component" is a term that has emerged in recent years to form alliances that do not carry religious, sectarian or national identity.
