Iraq Ambassador Attends Arab Tourism Council Meetings in Baghdad

Iraq’s ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League took part in the 28th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, held in Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025. The meetings also included the 36th session of the Executive Bureau, with ministers and representatives from Arab states and specialized organizations in attendance.

The events featured honors presented by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to Arab Tourism Organization President Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid for advancing joint Arab tourism efforts. Delegation heads were also recognized, while Ambassador Qahtan Taha Khalaf received the Baghdad Arab Culture Capital 2025 Medal for his role in securing Iraq’s hosting of the meetings.

Participants named Al Ain as Arab Tourism Capital for 2026 and Tunis for 2027, endorsed the Baghdad Declaration on sustainable tourism destinations by 2030, backed digital transformation, and called for increased support for Palestine.
