On Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that late Iraqi president Saddam Hussein was crazy and imposed a military war on Iran, according to Russia Today (RT).
He added that the outgoing US President Donald Trump is another 'madman', who imposed an economic war on Tehran.
"We will defeat Trump in the ongoing economic war, just as we defeated Saddam Hussein," Rouhani added, stressing that Saddam's execution day was a 'historic victory' for the Iranian people.
Moreover, the Iranian President affirmed, "Trump's fate will not be much better than the fate of Saddam Hussein," pointing out that Iran will not allow the American economic war to achieve its goals.
In addition, Rouhani made it clear that canceling the American sanctions would be a defeat for Israel, the reactionary countries, and the hardliners in the US.
